Pretend City is holding its first "Rock the City Talent Showcase" on Saturday, May 3, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., and of course, we'd love your help in promoting this special event if that feels right for you. I've attached a graphic.
Please note: parents must submit their child's/children's entries by 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25. All details are found here: http://pretendcity.org/talent-showcase/

Who can participate?
- Children must be 10 years or younger
- Non-professional performers only. Professional entertainers are not eligible. A professional is anyone who has received payment for performing even on a one-time basis.
Submit your video entry!
- Participants must upload a video of their child’s performance on YouTube with the video title, “Rock the City Talent Showcase Entry Video.”
- Video must be under 3 minutes long.
- Share your video link to Pretend City’s Facebook Page by April 25, 2014
- Non-Facebook users can email the video link to pretendcitymuseum@gmail.com
- Depending on the number of applications received, finalists will be determined by a random drawing onApril 25, 2014 to determine performers for May 3, 2014.
(Applies to finalists performing on May 3)
- All acts must be appropriate for family audiences.
- The following categories will be permitted for performance singing, dancing, instrumentals, poetry readings, child-friendly comedy, drama, skits and novelty acts.
- Lip sync and karaoke are not permitted.
- The uses of batons, pyrotechnics, dangerous equipment or live animals are prohibited.
- Each finalist will be given a pre-determined time to perform.
- Due to space, time and equipment constraints on the day of the Rock the City Talent Showcase, the maximum number in a group is five people.
- Parent/guardian must be present with contestants. Parent/guardian must sign registration form. All acts must complete the media release form.
- Each act will have up to 4 minutes to perform, and up to 5 minutes to set up and take down.
- Participants are responsible for their own props, costumes,and music. This includes bringing their own media player, CD, or DVDs.
